ASKOD, The Association for the Protection of Street Animals,
was established in 1997 to draw the public's attention to the
stray animals in the area. At present, we have 35 members and
we annually collect 15 USD per member. Most of the expenses (telephone
bills, mail expenses, transportation, providing excess food) are
provided by the Board of Governor.
ASKOD doesn't appraise euthanasia We do not want
animals being put to sleep due to the lack of space, being too
aged or for any other non-vital cases. We believe that there is
always an alternative solution, which we really try hard to generate.
Every single animal has the right to live happily, as happy as
thay can get in their already restricted lives. Adoption is therefore
critically important to achieve this goal.
Our organization has connections with both national and international
animal protection groups. The news, shared ideas and the common
problems are carefully examined and evaluated.
